Benefit Primping with the Stars
There's nothing to argue when it comes to benefit's packaging. Clearly, they always put a lot of thought in designing every product which never fails to impress me. Although it's not quite ideal for traveling but I could care less as it is so darn cute!! It's so pretty that I had to display it in my vanity counter! :) See..
The Primping with the Stars contains 6 travel size products which are 'some kinda gorgeous' foundation in medium, stay don't stray primer, benetint, girl meets pearl, they're real and the famous 'porefessional'. Other than its cute packaging, I bought this because I love every single product in the kit so it's worth the penny.
Some kinda gorgeous foundation. The foundation has a creamy texture when you rub your fingers onto the product but turns into a 'powder-like' texture when applied onto the skin. At first I thought it's a bit weird because I'm used to liquid foundations that turns matte or dewy afterwards, but then I liked it more and more as I use it consistently.
Stay don't stray. This primer is a great base for the eyeshadow and holds the shadows pretty well. My only problem with this is that it can't seem to fight my oily eyelids. My eyeshadow looks great during the first few hours (around 3-4 hrs) but later on, my eyelids become oily and it messes up my creation! My solution to this problem is I dab the oil paper onto my eyelids and rub gently my eyelids to fix the eyeshadow. It's bearable, but I'm still searching for a better eye primer. My conclusion would be: I think this product would not be good for those who have really oily eyelids. x_x For those who have dry eyelids, this product would be awesome for you and I envy you. -_-
Benetint. This little guy does wonders to my lips and cheeks. I use this almost everyday on my lips but beware as it can be drying. That's why I bought burt's bees lip balm (which I'll feature in my future posts) and it looks great for a natural everyday look. :)
Porefessional. This pore-minimizer is one of the top beauty products in the beauty world ever since. It really minimizes the appearance of pores and leaves your skin silky smooth, no doubt. However, you have to be careful in combining this with your foundation. If I am not mistaken, I think it's because of the silicone content of the product and if your foundation doesn't contain it or does contain an element that is not compatible w/ silicone, then it will slip and slide on your face. For example, I tried pairing the porefessional with my loreal true match foundation which is a water based foundation and I noticed that my foundation was melting on my cheeks later in the afternoon (it was horrible)! I may be wrong at this, but I've done a little research about pairing primers and foundations and this is the most plausible reason that I've found (which is from gossmakeupartist). Both primer and foundation must have the same chemical content for it to bring the best result. No wonder my laura mercier foundation primer looks great with my laura mercier silk creme foundation. I guess it's also a good idea to stick with the same brand when it comes to primer and foundation. The porefessional looks good when paired with my Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation & Chanel Perfection Lumiere.
Girl Meets Pearl. The name says it, it is a pearl colored brightener, great for cheeks, nose & top lip. Easy to use and apply. It lasts all day for me. Nothing bad to say about it. :)
They're real. This is the blackest of the black mascara I've ever tried which is a good thing. My only concern is that it cannot hold my curl (which i've been ranting about in my previous post regarding maybelline rocket volume mascara). But again, i guess my stubborn lashes are just too thin for them to carry the amount of mascara I'm putting on. Less or more product, I get the same result. Nevertheless, I still like this product because my lashes looks better than having no mascara at all. :))
Time to wrap up! Few shots of the product:
